Manta is
Swim Noir.

Where beach meets beauty in an unexpected way. The cross between a midnight dip and a salty stroll under the stars... Inspired by the sea at night.

#SwimNoir

At night, the sea rolls dark and mysterious, the gentle roar forever humming on the horizon. Manta collection, launched in 2016, was born with this in mind.

Founder, Janeane Marie created her collection of minimalist shapes and a subdued color palette to reference the sea at night.

Swim Noir veers from mainstream swimwear and focuses on women who appreciate clean, modern design steeped in classic and enduring shapes and patterns, featuring simplified luxury and fine performance fabrics milled in Italy. She is a woman who understands art and fashion on a deep level, and who values utmost quality and longevity in the pieces she chooses. She craves edge and unconventional details. This is at the core of MANTA.

After graduating with a BFA in Apparel Design from AI in Portland, Oregon, Janeane created her own eponymous line. Her career then took her to West Palm Beach and NYC. She and her musician husband eventually settled back in WPB to give MANTA its roots to grow.

Manta believes that good design has the power to make a positive impact.

In an industry that is notorious for the negative footprint that it creates, MANTA strives to take every measure that leads to real change.

Her years of working for larger brands took Janeane to Asia for sourcing and manufacturing. These experiences molded her beliefs in transparency concerning ethical sourcing and production. She became dedicated to the idea of creating a brand of apparel that is made in the USA. MANTA believes in people first. The choice to produce the collection entirely in America is the most effective way to put this into action. Our Factories and Fabric Printers are in South Florida, and we have collaborative relationships with them. As part of the #FashionRevolution, MANTA is committed to humanitarian practices across the entire supply chain, from sourcing to production, and appreciating every individual involved in
the process.

Beyond the methods used to make the goods, MANTA adheres to longevity of the product. Each piece is made from luxury performance fabric made in Italy from ECONYL, using recycled nylon fibers from abandoned fishing nets that threaten marine wildlife. The technology built into the fabric includes superior stretch and recovery, resistance to fading from sunlight, chlorine, seawater, and will hold it’s shape wash after wash. UPF 50+ offers the skin protection from the sun as well. The suits are made to last season after season, not to be throw-away fashion.
